Board Recruitment Announcement
Thurston Housing Land Trust (THLT) is seeking volunteer leaders to join a dynamic board of directors. THLT is a community land trust (CLT)—a nonprofit organization governed by a board of CLT residents, community residents, and public representatives that provide lasting community assets and shared equity homeownership opportunities for the families and communities of Thurston County. Our mission is to provide permanently affordable homeownership.
Our board members are actively engaged in CLT work and organizational governance. They are expected to attend monthly board meetings and join one or more committees. Access and ability to use web-based programs like Google Drive and Zoom and comfort communicating electronically is strongly desired.
We are seeking to add scope in these specific key areas:

Lived experience of seeking a home with low-to-moderate income
-
Non-profit management
-
Financing, mortgage, and affordable housing knowledge

Grant writing
-
Construction trades, development, renovating, and related networks

Effective branding and communications
As a young nonprofit organization, we are seeking to build capacity, so we will not turn away a strong candidate that may have other skills they would like to flex in a volunteer role. Skills and knowledge in accounting, human resources, media expertise, cultural entities, foundations, and so forth will also be considered.
